What is a Fire Exit Door?
Intended to provide a fast, fail safe escape route, an emergency fire exit door allows personnel to evacuate an enclosed space quickly using an internal push bar, while simultaneously acting as a barrier against unauthorized exterior access.
Choosing the Right Door: Standard vs. Security
Both options share the same clean, industrial look and feature heavy-duty internal panic hardware for instant egress, but they are built differently depending on the external security risks of your location:
Standard Fire Exit Door (Everyday safety):
Perfect for general compliance and secondary escape routes. It’s suited for premises where standard business security is more than enough to deter external threats. It’s lighter and operates effortlessly during an evacuation, while still giving you a tough steel barrier against intruders. (Available for 900×2100 and 1000×2100 openings).
Security Fire Exit Door (More secure applications):
For more vulnerable areas, premises that hold valuable stock, or when you just want complete peace of mind. The security version uses thicker steel on both the frame and the door itself. It adds internal steel reinforcements and an extra hinge to handle the weight and stand up to serious external physical attack, without ever compromising the internal escape mechanism. A Secured by Design PAS24 certification is also available (for 900×2100, 1000×2100, and 1200×2100 openings).
Ready for Business
Both versions arrive ready to fit and include British made Exidor internal panic bars for rapid exit, along with optional secure exterior access options.
These doors are available in six stock powder-coated finishes: Latham’s White, Anthracite Grey, Goosewing Grey, Merlin Grey, Juniper Green, and Jet Black from stock, with a range of optional colours to match your brand or existing colour scheme.
