FAQs

What glass is installed in the glazing panels?

For Security doors, we use a glazed unit, 10.8mm laminate anti-bandit security glass.
For High Security (Ultra) doors, we use a double-glazed unit, compromising of 6.8mm laminate anti-bandit security glass.

What can the glazed steel doors be used for?

Our customers frequently use our glazed doors for residential and commercial applications, for example secure office interior doors.

Can I order this door opening inwards?

Fire exit doors cannot open inwards. In the event of emergency, the door is made to open fast, by rapidly pushing the push bar down and door outwards

How do double doors get delivered?

Your steel double door will be delivered in a minimum of 4 boxes:

2 x door leaves packaged individually
1 x box containing the hinge posts
1 x box containing the head of the frame and the bottom threshold

By delivering your steel double door frame in self-assembly pieces, it reduces the amount of handling of the doors. This in turn reduces associated health and safety risks as the door and frame are delivered in separate, manageable boxes meaning they’re less likely to be dropped causing unnecessary damage to the door.

Please note, delivery is kerbside only. We request that another party is present to help unload.

How do I put together a double door knockdown frame?

For specific advice regarding building the self-assembly knockdown frame for your steel double door, see our blog post

What is the lead time?

Stock Door (white, modified e.g. installed accessories, vision panel e.t.c) – 4 working days
Re-Powder Coated Stock Door, with or without accessories installed (not white) – 10 working days
Fast track options are also available

How many keys come with the door?

Fire exit doors ordered with an OAD (outside access device) come with 2 keys
Additional keys are available – we have a key cutting machine on-site

How much do the steel doors weigh?

Double doors weigh on average 110kg*
*size dependant

What are the door sizes? What is the clear opening?

The sizes listed are external frame sizes.
We offer side panels and over panels if you need to add to the width or height of the door. We also offer a cut down service to reduce the height of the door
To calculate the clear opening (when the door is open), subtract 110mm from the width dimension. E.G. 895mm-110mm=760mm clear opening
See the video on how to measure here

What is Security Trim?

The security trim kit fits around the perimeter of the door frame, preventing any packing from being seen externally and making the door as a whole more secure.
It hides un-level or large gaps, hides the position of fixings eliminating the risk of tampering from intruders and crucially protects the fixings from attack.
